A director of a failing cable channel who comes up with the idea of just broadcasting one person's life, 24 hours-a-day. The chosen subject is video store worker Ed and the show becomes a hit, but with it comes problems: he falls for his brother's girl, and his dad reappears and tensions grow between him and his mother. Somehow, Ed has to get the show cancelled to get his life back.
