In the summer of 1968, Karin and Lottie rent rooms from Georg who owns the local newspaper, his wife Ulla and daughter Ingela who will soon marry. Ystad is a town of old traditions, but Karin and Lottie see a future where there is room for both women and men, sex and politics, children and work.
