Stephen Simmons has returned from the war in Vietnam a scarred man - both physically and mentally. While his wife Lois tries to come to terms with the changes which have occurred in Stephen's personality, their son Stu and daughter Lidia find themselves facing their own problems with a local gang of kids who want to take over the Simmon's treehouse.
