Whether imagined or not, an elderly man believes that he was accidentally switched at birth with another and that the impact of this mishap ruined his life. Thomas, or Toto (played by three actors in the film depending on his age during flashbacks), has led a lackluster existence and remains jealous of Alfred (again played by three actors depending on his age during flashbacks), the man he is convinced took his rightful place. This jealousy has proven all-consuming and has wrecked relationships with Toto's loved ones, but this will not stop the mistrustful man from seeking revenge against Alfred. The imaginative plot leads Toto to seek retribution in rather creative ways.
